Rules of Engagement
Tuesday, October 11th, 2011Hi, everyone… thanks so much for checking out my new website! Lots of ways for us to connect here: Twitter, Facebook, a comment section on the Blog, and a Q&A Page (there’s an area on the Contact page for questions). Full disclosure: the functionality of all this cyber-technology is beyond my comprehension. But I’ll figure it out eventually.
The site is definitely a work in progress– more photos and video to come– and I’ll be updating my schedule frequently, so stop by any time. I’d also really love your feedback and any suggestions you may have about content, blog topics and site features. Since we’re a “family friendly” establishment, though, I’ve put together a few…
Rules of Engagement:
- I strongly encourage all feedback to be overwhelmingly positive!
- (sigh) OK. That’s kinda Pollyannaish. But if you insist upon throwing jabs, how about some constructive criticism? Or a counterargument? C’mon. Humor me. It’ll make me think you care. And even if you don’t care, but send me a goody bag with dark chocolate in it, all will be forgiven.
- Please be sensitive to the fact I’m a Mets fan. The Yanks and Phils made early playoff exits, and that’s cool and all… but I’m still extraordinarily fragile. It’s been a rough few (many) years. Between the Wilpons’ lawsuit hell this season, injuries and Jose Reyes’ shameless stunt to get a few measly extra bucks for a flippin batting title, I’m at my wits end. At least Citi Field has a Shake Shack. One chocolate shake, please. Make that a double.
- Feel free to veer off the sports path! I’m a news junkie and if you follow me on Twitter (and if you don’t, you’re really missin out on all the fun. Handle is @BonnieBernstein. Giddy up, Tonto), you know I comment on lots of stuff outside my realm of expertise. And truth be told, more times than not, I throw things out there because I love accumulating a broad sampling of your opinions.
Capisce? Comply, and all will be copasetic.
But just in case… the next time you’re in the grocery store… you might wanna pick up a can of dark chocolate almonds.

Good ground rules and love the site. Look forward to following the blog, too. Keep on doing your thing, Bonnie!
Hey Bonnie, I saw ur new website, it looks great, I saw a couple of times doind Ohio St. football, do u miss doing football games?
I miss the face-to-face interaction with coaches and players every week, but love hosting (and it’s nice to be off the road!)
Bonnie, the website is like you…magna cum laude! Excellent, tasteful design, no frills, just professional.
the best guest host for dan patrick, love your spin on sports,dr.rice interview was great, big fan
Hi Bonnie,
I’m a fellow Terp (a little older than you) and have always enjoyed your reporting. I did news, sports and DJ at WMUC over the main dining hall!
We lived in Richmond, Virginia for three years 2005-2008 and that first summer you and I were both involved in the Maccabi Games. Whereas I was helping out with the baseball team that my son was playing on, you got the whole event started at the Robbins Center as Emcee of the Opening Ceremonies.
I can remember like it was yesterday the first thing you said….”Hot enough for you?”
And it was very hot that night and the rest of the week. In fact, one of the umpires passed out before one of the ballgames. But you handled it like the pro that you are!
So, I found your web-site because of your comments about Jeremy Lin and his forgiving nature. I wanted to introduce myself, say hello and tell you that I can relate to you in many ways. School, favorite teams, sportswriting,,,,,even New Jersey!
Take care, keep up the great work. I plan on following your blog and look forward to your views!
David Fox
you are the best hope you are doing well
